My Mission with Delphy - and Why Stories Matter ✨

Stories have a profound impact on people. The films and stories I experienced as a child still stay with me today — some lifted me up, others left heavier marks.

That’s why I believe storytellers carry a responsibility. Stories do something to us. They shape how we see the world, stir emotions, and sometimes, they can even change lives.

I recently watched the 2016 Irish film Sing Street (if you haven't seen that one yet, I can highly recommend it! Trailer below...).

What deeply moved me wasn't just the film, but also a comment underneath the trailer. Someone had written: "My friend suggested me this movie, i was in depression and having suicidal thoughts. This movie saved me for a day, and i watched it again saved me for another day. I am hopeful. I hope I will get better.", followed by lots of uplifting and encouraging comments.

This is what movies can do. This is the responsibility we hold as storytellers.

My goal as a filmmaker is to create films that leave viewers feeling better than when they arrived — to offer uplift, positivity, and meaningful entertainment in a world that often feels overwhelming. I believe that uplifting narratives are more important than ever, and that stories filled with heart can have a real, lasting impact.

With Delphy, my mission is to tell a story rooted in courage, resilience, and joy — a story about finding beauty in unexpected places, about connection, and about the quiet yet powerful act of staying true to yourself. It’s also a reminder that even through heartbreak, there is always light. Delphy will make you laugh, cry, and, above all, feel uplifted — because those are the very emotions I seek when I go to the movies. My hope is to create a piece that lingers with you, leaving you alive, inspired, and reminded that being different isn’t a weakness, but where our truest strength and uniqueness live.

I believe that by sharing uplifting narratives, we raise our own vibrations — and in doing so, we lift others too. That ripple effect can create real change.

My greatest hope is that the stories I tell contribute to a better future — for ourselves, for each other, and for the planet. And I believe that kind of change starts from within: through love, hope, and the joy of staying true to who we are.

Through uplifting stories, I hope Delphy serves as a reminder that even amidst hardship, there is healing, empowerment, and beauty.

Thank you for being on this journey with me. 🌸

And stay tuned for further updates coming soon.

Lea

What’s a story that has stayed with you — one that lifted you, or changed how you see the world?

I remember watching "Lars and the Real Girl" with Ryan Gosling from 2007...it was such a strange premise, but, at the end, the film made me so happy to be a human being. Like giddy with humanity.
